Matilde Marcolli

Matilde Marcolli received the Laurea degree in theoretical physics from Universita' degli Studi, Milano, Italy, in 1993. She also obtained the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the University of Chicago, USA, in 1994 and 1997, respectively. During 1997–2000, she worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. Between 2000–2008, she served at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics, Bonn, Germany. Since 2008, she has been working at California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, USA. Her main research interests include mathematical physics, noncommutative geometry, applications to number theory and physics, and Gauge theory and low-dimensional topology.
