Andreas Fring is Professor of mathematical physics in the Centre for Mathematical Science at City University London, London, UK. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1992 from Imperial College London under the supervision of Professor David Olive (CBE, FLSW, FRS). Between 1992 and 1994, he held postdoc positions at the Universidade de São Paulo (São Carlos, Brazil) and the University of Wales (Swansea, UK). Before joining City University in 2004, he was Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in the Department of Physics at the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) for almost ten years. His main field of research is quantum field theory with a particular focus on integrable models in one time and one space dimension. He also keeps an active interest in high-energy laser physics and recently in pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian systems. He is author/coauthor of more than 80 articles published in international journals and conference proceedings.
