Tetsuo Yanagi

Tetsuo Yanagi graduated from the Faculty of Science, Kyoto University, in March 1972. Then he obtained his M.S. degree in March 1974; and his Ph.D. degree in March 1978 both from Kyoto University. Afterwards, he was assigned as a Research Associate and as an Associate Professor at the Department of Ocean Engineering, Ehime University, in April 1974, 1983, respectively. In August 1990, he became a Professor of coastal oceanography at the Department of Civil and Ocean Engineering, Ehime University; then he held the same position at the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics (RIAM), Kyushu University, in August 1998. Professor Yanagi served as the Director of the Research Institute for Applied Mechanics, Kyushu University, in April 2008.
