Florian Weis was born at June 18th, 1973 in Munich, Germany. From 2000 to 2006, he was a Resident at the Department of Anesthesiology, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, München, Germany. Since 2006, he has been a Senior Physician at the Department of Anesthesiology, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München, Germany. He worked at the Cardiac Surgical ICU from 2006 to 2009 and at Gynecological and Obstetric Anesthesia from 2008 to 2010. From 2010, he has been focusing on the anesthesia for visceral, thoracic, and traumatologic surgery. In 2006, he obtained a degree in anesthesiology and a supplementary degree in intensive care medicine. In 2011, he obtained the venia legendi to be an Associate Professor for anesthesiology. He serves as an Editor of the Journal of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Research, The Scientific World Journal, the British Journal of Anaesthesia, the Minerva Anaesthesiologica, the Journal of Clinical Anaesthesia, the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Shock, and the International Journal of Artificial Organs.
