Roberto Amerigo Papini was a Technical Assistant at the parasitology service, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Pisa, Italy (1990–1996); a Technical Assistant at the Department of Veterinary Clinics, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Pisa, Italy (1997–2000); a Researcher at the Department of Veterinary Clinics, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Pisa, Italy (2001–2007); a Researcher at the Department of Animal Pathology, Prophylaxis, and Food Hygiene, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Pisa, Italy (2007–2012); and a Researcher at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy (from 2012 until the present time). In 2007, he received the M.S. degree in clinics of behavioral diseases of dogs and cats from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Turin, Italy. In 1989, he became a specialist in small animal diseases at the Pathology and Clinics of Companion Animals College, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, and then, he became a Diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College in 2004. Papini is a Member of the Italian Society of Parasitology. His main research interests are parasitic and mycotic diseases transmissible from domestic and wild animals to human beings. He is also an author and a coauthor of more than 150 publications, including original scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, oral communications, and poster presentations at national and international congresses, popular articles, and book chapters.
