Jan P. Van Der Schaar
Jan Pieter Van Der Schaar received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, in 2000. Since 2010, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Korteweg de Vries Institute for Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Before arriving in his Amsterdam position, he held research fellowship positions at the University of Michigan (USA), CERN (Switzerland), and Columbia University (USA). He is a Member of the string theory research group at the University of Amsterdam, and his areas of expertise range from inflationary cosmology, holography, and the AdS/CFT correspondence, to more general topics in quantum gravity and string theory.
