Piero Olliaro

Piero Olliaro received an M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He serves as a manager at task force for research on drug resistance and policies (RAP); technology transfer for R&D in developing countries (drugs for neglected diseases group), and WHO/TDR. He received an M.D. degree in infectious diseases and a Ph.D. degree in infectious diseases from the University of Pavia, Italy. He served as a scientist and a manager with a background in academic, industrial, and international settings. He is an expert on drug development, registration, postregistration, and implementation studies. He served as a Visiting Scientist and Lecturer at universities in Malaysia, Thailand, South Africa, Italy, and France. He serves also as a Member of the Editorial and Advisory Boards of the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Collaboration, Trends in Parasitology, Médicine Tropicale and BioMed Ce,ntral.
