Alessandro Prinetti

Alessandro Prinetti was born on November 6, 1965, in Milano, Italy. He received a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry in 1997. He was a Senior Fellow at the Department of Pathobiology, School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of Washington, Seattle, Wash, USA (from May 16, 1997 to October 31, 1998). He is a Handling Editor of the Journal of Neurochemistry, a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Lipids, a Guest Editor of special issues for the Glycoconjugate Journal and Trends in Glycoscience and Glycotechnology, a Coordinator of the Glycobiology Group of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a Council Member of the European Society for Neurochemistry (since 2009). In 2005, he was a Chairman and Organizer for the international meeting Glycobiology of Lipid Membrane Domains: From Membrane Organization to Biological Function, Monte Oliveto Maggiore (Siena), Italy (Satellite Meeting of the XVIII International Symposium on Glycoconjugates). Moreover, he was a Member of the International Advisory Group for the 5th International Charleston Ceramide Conference (2009). He is a proponent and a Chairman of the 4th ISN Special Neurochemistry Conference: Membrane Domains in CNS Physiology and Pathology, May 22–26, 2010, Erice (Trapani), Sicily, Italy
