T.-W. Lee
Te-Won Lee is an Associate Research Professor
at the Institute for Neural Computation,
University of California, San Diego,
and a Collaborating Professor in the Biosystems
Department at the Korea Advanced Institute
of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Dr. Lee received his diploma degree in
March 1995 and his Ph.D. degree in October
1997 (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering
from the University of Technology
Berlin. During his studies, he received the Erwin-Stephan Prize for
excellent studies from the University of Technology Berlin and the
Carl-Ramhauser Prize for excellent dissertations from the DaimlerChrysler
Corporation. He was a Max-Planck Institute Fellow
from 1995 till 1997 and a Research Associate at the Salk Institute
for Biological Studies from 1997 till 1999. Dr. Lees research interests
include machine learning algorithms with applications in signal
and image processing. Recently, he has worked on variational
Bayesian methods for independent component analysis, algorithms
for speech enhancement and recognition, models for computational
vision, and classification algorithms for medical informatics.
