Louis Valiquette is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Université de Sherbrooke. He received his certification from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in internal medicine (1999), infectious diseases (2001), and medical microbiology (2001). He is a Consultant in infectious diseases and medical microbiology at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS), a 686-bed academic center in the Province of Quebec, Canada. He completed an M.S. degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto in 2005. He has been an Active Member of the Quebec’s Immunization Committee since 2005. He is a Junior Clinician Scientist of the Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec. His particular areas of interest include community-acquired pneumonia, antibiotic stewardship, Clostridium difficile infections, and the effects of the conjugate antipneumococcal vaccine.
