Gokce A. Toruner
Gokce A. Toruner received his M.D. degree in 1996 from the Hacettepe University, Turkey and went on to complete a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology and genetics from Bilkent University in 2001. He did his postdoctoral training at the Center for Human and Molecular Genetics, UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Following his postdoctoral training, he joined the Faculty of the New Jersey Medical School in 2004. He is certified in clinical molecular genetics and clinical molecular genetics by American Board of Medical Genetics. Currently, he serves as the Associate Director of molecular genetics and cytogenetics at the Institute of Genomic Medicine at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School. Dr. Toruner's major research interest is impact of constitutional and acquired copy number variations on the manifestation of human diseases. As of August 2010, he has 18 peer-reviewed publications with over 230 citations.
