Maria De Angelis
Maria De Angelis graduated with a degree in agricultural sciences from the University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy, with good mark (110/110 lode) in 1996. She received her Ph.D. degree in food biotechnology in 2001. After that, she spent three years of research at the Institute of Science of Food Production of CNR of Bari, Italy. From 2005, she was Researcher at the Biotechnology Faculty of the University of Bari, Bari, Italy. In 2010, she got the habilitation for Associate Professor. She is member of the National Ph.D. on “Food Microbiology, Technology, Safety and Chemistry.” She is in charge of courses of microbiology, food biotechnology, microbial biotechnology, and functional foods at the Biotechnology Faculty of the University of Bari. Her main research work is focused on food microbiology and, especially, on genomics, proteomics, enzymology and physiology of bacteria, functional foods, food intolerance, and food allergies. She is frequently appointed as a referee by international journals and she is an Editorial Board Member of the Open Agriculture Journal and Recent Patents on Food, Nutrition & Agriculture Journal. She is author or coauthor of ca. 250 papers, 104 of them are quoted by ISI with impact factor, 10 chapters in national and international texts, and 9 patents.
