Kousik Deb is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. He obtained his B.E. (civil) degree from the Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, and M.E. degree from the Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur, Howrah, India. He completed the Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. He received Young Scientist/Engineer Awards from the Institute of Engineers, Kolkata, India, and Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, India. He also received international awards like Excellent ASCE Paper Award from International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG), USA, and Shamsher Prakash Research Award, India. As DAAD Fellow, Deb visited the RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He has been selected for Endeavour Research Fellowship. He works as a Reviewer of several journal papers. His research areas are soil-structure interaction, ground improvement, and numerical modeling. He published over 65 refereed technical papers among which 32 are in refereed journals.
