Chang-Jian Lin

Chang-Jian Lin studied Chemistry at Xiamen University and he recieved Diploma in 1976, M.S. degree in 1981, and Ph.D. degree at Xiamen University in 1985. He was a Guest Scientist (postdoctoral research program) at National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA, between 1987–1990, an Associate Professor of Xiamen University from 1990 to 1991, a Full Professor in both Department of Chemistry and State Key Laboratory for Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces at Xiamen University since 1991, a Distinguished Professor of Xiamen University since 2005, a Head of Department of Material Science during 1997–1999, an Associate Dean for College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering during 1998–2000, a Director of Department of Science and Technology of Xiamen University from 2000 to 2006, a Guest Scientist at National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA, during 1994–95, 1999–2000 and in 2002, a Visiting Professor at University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, and University of Alberta, Canada, in 1997, and an Adjunct Professor of National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, in 2008. His total publications are 280 reviewed papers and 26 patents. He gained several awards and honors including Second Prize of the Progress in Science and Technology from State Education Ministry (1988), First Prize of the Progress in Science and Technology in Xiamen (1995), Outstanding Winner of Doctoral Degree in China (1991) from National Foundation for the Outstanding Young Scientists (1996), Second Prize of Innovation from State Education Ministry (2002, 2003), and Second Prize of the Progress in Science and Technology from Fujian Province Government (2004).
