Chin-Chuan Han received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from the National Chiao-Tung University in 1989 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees both in computer science and electronic engineering from the National Central University in 1991 and 1994, respectively. From 1995 to 1998, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. He was an Assistant Research Fellow in the Telecommunication Laboratories, Chung Hwa Telecom Co. in 1999. From 2000 to 2004, he worked with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Chung Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. Han was promoted to be an Associate Professor in 2002. In 2004, he joined the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National United University, Miaoli, Taiwan, where he became a Professor in 2007. He served as the Director of computer center from 2006 to 2008 and as the Chairperson of Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering from 2008 to 2010. Professor Han is a Member of IEEE, SPIE, and IPPR in Taiwan. His research interests are in the areas of face recognition, biometric-based authentication, video surveillance, image analysis, computer vision, and pattern recognition.
