Kazutaka Shimoda

Kazutaka Shimoda was born on June 20, 1957. He received an M.D. degree from Shiga University of Medical Science from 1977 to 1983. He received a Ph.D. degree in psychiatry and CNS information control from Shiga University of Medical Science, Graduate School from 1983 to 1987. From 1987 to 1990, he served as an Instructor at the Department of Psychiatry, Shiga University of Medical Science and as a Visiting Scientist from Japanese Ministry of Education, Department of Psychiatry, Brain and Development Research Center(Laboratory of Professor A.J. Prange Jr.), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC, USA from 1988 to 1990. Between 2006 and 2007, he served as a Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Dokkyo Medical University. Since 2007, he serves as a Chairman and Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Dokkyo Medical University. His major scientific interests are clinical psychiatry, chronobiology, behavioral sciences, endocrine research in affective disorders, and pharmacogenetics of psychotropic drugs.
