Yu Chieh Tzeng, M.B.Ch.B. and Ph.D. degrees holder, is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Physiology and the Director of the Centre for Translational Physiology at the University of Otago, New Zealand. As a leading international contributor to the field of integrative cardiovascular physiology, he has pioneered important developments in the assessment and modeling of physiological mechanisms underpinning systemic blood pressure control and its integration with cerebral blood flow regulation. He has broad interests across both basic and applied domains of physiology including cardiovascular control, autonomic function, and hemodynamics. In this work he employs integrative methodologies that combine invasive catheterization techniques with noninvasive imaging and computational modeling approaches. His current clinical research focuses on the application of systems physiology and bioengineering approaches to extract diagnostic information from complex biomedical signals.
