Aldo Agnetti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Parma, Italy and a Pediatric Cardiologist. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Parma in 1973 and became a Specialist in pediatrics and in cardiology (University of Parma). From September 1977 to December 1978, Dr. Agnetti worked as a Research Fellow at the University of London and as a Clinical Assistant at the Hospital for Sick Children (Cardiothoracic Unit), Great Ormond Street, London. During this stage, he made important research on transposition of the great arteries, which was published in international scientific journals such as British Heart Journal and others. Moreover, Dr. Agnetti is a Member of the British Medical Association (1977-1978), Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal Medical and Surgical Pediatrics, and Member of the Board of the Italian Society of Pediatric Cardiology (1986-1987). He is also the author of more than 250 publications on pediatric cardiology in prestigious international and Italian scientific journals and the organizer and scientific secretary of several meetings, including Parma International Echo Meeting, From Fetus to Young Adult presently at the 20th edition. At present, he is the Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Unit, Department of Pediatrics, Parma University Hospital and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Medical School of the University of Parma. Furthermore, Dr. Agnetti performs haemodynamic procedures, both diagnostic and interventional, in pediatric patients with congenital heart disease. He also teaches at the School of Medicine of the University of Parma, Postgraduate Schools of Pediatrics, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, and in various postgraduate Master programs.
