Amos Douvdevani

Amos Douvdevani was born on July 29, 1957, in Kibbutz Zeelim, Israel. He received the B.S. degree (from 1981 to 1984) and the M.S. degree (from 1984 to 1986) from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel. Douvdevani received the Ph.D. degree (from 1986 to 1990) from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva with a a thesis entitled "Constitutive IL-1 expression in fibrosarcoma lines: regulation by oncogenes and effects of cytokine expression on tumor-host interactions," under the supervision of Professor Apte, R.N. and Professor Segal, S. Since 2004, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. From 2005 to 2009, he was Chairperson of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Since 1990, Douvdevani has been the Head of Nephrology Laboratory Soroka Medical Center, Kupat Holim Clalit, Beer-Sheva.
