Edmund J. Bini
Edmund J. Bini, MD, MPH is the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System and an Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine. As the Director of Research in the Division of Gastroenterology at NYU School of Medicine, Dr Bini oversees all research activities in the Division, serves as a research mentor for fellows, residents, and medical students, and also finds appropriate mentors for individuals who are interested in research. His research interests include liver diseases (especially viral hepatitis), gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, colorectal cancer screening, outcomes research, the epidemiology of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and racial/ethnic disparities. Dr Bini is actively involved in training gastroenterology fellows to perform diagnostic and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr Bini is an Associate Editor for Digestive Diseases and Sciences and serves on the Editorial Boards of Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the World Journal of Gastroenterology, and several other journals.
