Arzu Yorgancioglu serves as a Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonology at Celal Bayar University, Turkey. She is a Clinical Specialist in pulmonology and has a long-term scientific interest in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and COPD. Dr. Yorgancioglu is involved and conducted a large number of clinical studies evaluating both new and established pharmacological interventions in asthma and COPD. She has published more than 160 scientific papers and is often invited as a speaker at international and national meetings. She served as the Secretary General and the Secretary of International Affairs in Turkish Thoracic Society (TTS) between 2004 and 2010. Her roles with national or other societies include being a Member of ERS Asthma and Clinical Allergy Assembly (since 2000), being the Chair of GARD Turkey Project (Turkish Ministry of Health, National Control Program obn Chronic Airway Diseases (Asthma and COPD)), being a Member of the Executive Committee of the TTS Asthma and Allergy Assembly (since 2000), and being a Member of GARD Executive Committee (Since 2011).
