Filippo Cademartirii was born in Parma, Italy in 1973. In Parma, he followed medical school during which he attended mostly surgical specialties including cardiac surgery. At the end of medicine school, he completed the radiology residency until 2000. Then, he won an Erasmus Scholarship for the Department of Radiology of the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam/NL. There, he spent his 5 years in charge of noninvasive cardiovascular imaging with particular interest in technology development and assessment (CT and MRI). He optimized the procedure of cardiac and coronary imaging with CT starting with 4-slice generations until the current Dual-source CT. The research of the last 10 years produced several papers focused on technical and clinical aspects. He is also active in cardiac MR especially focusing on technical development myocardial viability and delayed enhancement. In 2005, he has become the responsible for a Noninvasive Cardiovascular Unit in the Academic Hospital of Parma/IT. He participated in several multicenter trials and is board member and reviewer of several international scientific journals.
