Wagdy Loza is a licensed psychologist (Ontario) and a Member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). He is currently a Member of the Ontario Review Board and the Exchair of the section on Extremism/Terrorism of the Canadian Psychological Association. He has served as the President of the Board of Directors, St. Lawrence Youth Association for Young Offenders, Kingston, ON, Canada. He retired in October 2009 from the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) with almost 30 years of experience with CSC. He was the Chief Psychologist at Kingston Penitentiary. Also, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of psychiatry at Queen’s University and Ex-Adjunct Professor of psychology at Carleton University. He has 40 publications and offered workshops and presentations in several countries around the world such as Australia, Canada, Egypt, Kuwait, The Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, and the USA. Dr. Loza has developed two measures. The first is the Self –Appraisal Questionnaire (the SAQ) for predicting violent and nonviolent recidivism among correctional/forensic populations. The second measure is the Assessment and Treatment of Radicalization Scale (the ATRS) designed to measure Middle-Eastern extremism and terrorism.
