Costas N. Costa
Costas N. Costa is an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Science and Technology of the School of Geotechnical Sciences and Environmental Management at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). He has obtained his B.S. degree and M.S. degree in chemistry, and his Ph.D. degree in environmental catalysis from the University of Cyprus. During his Academic Career, he has obtained several national and international honors and awards for his academic and research achievements, including an Honor from the Denmark Royal Academy of Sciences for the development of a novel sustainable depollution technology. He has worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, Institute of Technology (UMIST) and as a Postdoctoral Fellow Visiting Lecturers and Assistant Professors at the University of Cyprus (Department of Chemistry). Costa has more than 40 publications in high impact, international and refereed journals. He also has over 50 publications in international conferences proceedings, where he participated for presentation for his research. He is currently the Coordinator of five Research Projects, while he participated in more than 30 Research Projects (European, UNOPs, Leonardo, and Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation). He owns six patents (European, American, and Japanese) for the Development of Novel Technologies for the Reduction of Nitrogen Oxides (NOX) with bioethanol and/or hydrogen. His research interests focus on the area of environmental depollution. In particular, environmental catalysis, gaseous waste and wastewater depollution, solid wastes treatment and disposal, and pollution prevention and environmental processes automation.
