Libero Vitiello
Libero Vitiello holds a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Biology, Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy. Vitiello serves as a Researcher in the Faculty of Medicine, the University of Padova and also works in the Department of Biology at the same university. He served before as a Researcher funded by Centre for Innovative Biotechnologies (CRIBI) of the University of Padua, his project was entitled Liposome-Mediated Gene Transfer in Cardiac and Skeletal Muscle. Vitiello's recent research covers the fields of gene therapy for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies, study of macrophage-produced myogenic factors, and tissue engineering of skeletal muscle. He collaborated in functional studies on other diseases such as epilepsy, cardiomyopathy, and pituitary tumors.
