Elizabeth Halcomb was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery in 2007. Prior to this she was employed within the Nursing Research Units within the Sydney West and Sydney South West Area Health Services and as Trauma Data Manager at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney, Australia. Halcomb has worked in a range of medical and surgical clinical areas as well as the Intensive Care Unit of a major metropolitan hospital. In addition, she was awarded a Ph.D. degree in 2006, and since that time her teaching and research interests have focused on general practice nursing, chronic disease management, cardiovascular disease, ageing, mixed methods research, and evidence-based practice. She was appointed Head of Program for the Graduate Diploma/Master of Nursing Course in 2008.
