Kusum Menon was graduated from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1989 and received her training in pediatrics and pediatric critical care at the Universities of Ottawa and British Columbia in 1994 and 1996, respectively. She then completed a research year at the University of Western Ontario from 1996 to 1997 and her M.S. degree in epidemiology at the University of Western Ontario in 2000. Menon works currently as an Associate Professor of pediatrics at the University of Ottawa and a Senior Investigator at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute. She sits on the Executive of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group. Moreover, she has won numerous awards for research mentorship, and her areas of interest include adrenal insufficiency in pediatric critical care as well as the consent process in pediatric critical care research. She is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for work in these areas.
