Nagesh Kumar, D
D. Nagesh Kumar is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, since May 2002. Earlier he worked at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, 1994–2002, and NRSA, Hyderabad, 1992–1994. He obtained his Ph.D. (Engg) degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 1992. He visited Utah State University, USA, in 1999 for 6 months on BOYSCAST fellowship. His research interests include climate hydrology, water resources systems, ANN, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, MCDM, and remote sensing and GIS applications in water resources engineering. He has published more than 120 papers in leading international journals and conferences in his research fields. He has also been a Reviewer for more than 50 international journals including Water Resources Research, Water International, Hydrological Sciences Journal, Hydrological Process, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Engineering Optimization, ASCE J Hydrologic Engineering, ASCE J Computing in Civil Engineering, AGU Geophysical Research Letters, AGU JGR Atmospheres, IEEE Transactions on SMC and IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, and Journal of Intelligent Systems. Dr. Kumar is an Associate Editor for ASCE Hydrologic Engineering and is on the Editorial Board of Applied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, Hindwai and ISH Journal of Hydraulic Engineering. Moreover, he is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers, India, and Indian Society for Hydraulics (ISH) and a Member of the ASCE (USA), AGU (USA), IAHS (UK), IAHR (Spain), ISMCDM (USA), and Indian Society of Remote Sensing.
