Sandra Helena Penha Oliveira

Sandra Helena Penha Oliveira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She graduated in biomedical sciences from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State (1988) and received the M.S. degree in cellular and molecular biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (1994) and the Ph.D. degree in pharmacology from School of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, University of São Paulo (1998). She was Research Fellow at the Department of Pathology, University of Michigan Medical School in the area of immunopharmacology (1998-2000). She is currently Adjunct Professor at School of Dentistry of Araçatuba, Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho. She has experience in teaching and research in pharmacology, with emphasis on immunopharmacology, acting on the following topics: models of inflammation, cell migration, culture of gingival fibroblasts, cultured mast cells from bone marrow, odontoblasts, cell activation, chemokines, and mechanisms of intracellular signaling.
