Zeljko Ivezic

Zeljko Ivezic is a Professor in the Astronomy Department at the University of Washington. He holds a Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Kentucky. His research interests are in detection, analysis, and interpretation of electromagnetic emission from astronomical objects, and he has published studies on asteroids, the Milky Way structure, and multiwavelength properties of stars, galaxies, and quasars. He is also interested in radiative transfer and is engaged in studies of dusty environments around young and old stars, and active galactic nuclei. He has coauthored over 200 refereed publications, with a cumulative citation count of over 20 000. He is coauthor of the radiative transfer code DUSTY, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Moving Object Catalog. During his seven years in Princeton, he earned the status of SDSS “builder” (sdss.org) for his software development. Zeljko currently serves as the Project Scientist for LSST, a next generation survey (lsst.org).
