Joao H. Z. Dos Santos

Joao H. Z. Dos Santos got his B.S. degree in chemistry (1985), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil), his M.S. degree in spectroscopy (1989) at the same university, and the Ph.D. degree in molecular chemistry and catalysis (1993) at Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France). He did postdoctoral research (1999/2000) at the Japan Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST, Ishikawa, Japan). He is presently an Associate Professor at Analytical Chemistry (UFRGS). His research dealt with synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of silica-based materials in different applications such as preconcentration phases, catalyst supports, nanostructured materials, and sorbents. He is the author of ca. 130 papers.
