Shi-Jinn Horng received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from the National Taiwan Institute of Technology, Taiwan, the M.S. degree in information engineering from the National Central University, Taiwan, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan in 1980, 1984, and 1989, respectively. Currently, he is a Full Professor in the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department and also the Director of Computer Center at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. He has published more than 100 research papers and received many awards especially the one named as Distinguished Research Award of National Science Council 2004. His research interests include information security, VLSI design, multiprocessing systems, and parallel algorithms.
