Usik Lee received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Yonsei University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1979. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 1982 and 1985, respectively. Currently he is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Inha University, Incheon, Republic of Korea. His research interests include structural dynamics, computational mechanics, vibration, and biomechanics. He is the author of the book Spectral Element Method in Structural Dynamics printed by Wiley & Sons in 2009. He is an Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He has served as a referee for many reputed international journals. He is now a Vice President of the Korean Society for Railway.
