Gabriella Cancrini

Gabriella Cancrini serves as a Biologist and as an Associated Professor in parasitology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine of the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and as the Director in charge of the Operative Unit Diagnostic Parasitology at the Policlinico Umberto I of Rome, Italy. She is a Member of Parassitologia (SoIPa) since 1970, Medicina Tropicale (SIMeT) since 1984, Igiene, Medicina Preventiva e Sanità Publica, since 1986, and Nematologia since 1989, and a Founding Member of the European Dirofilaria Society (EDiS), 2009. She joins research and teaching activities and, therefore, part of the research aimed to updating the diagnostic tools in parasitology and courses of basic and advanced diagnostics that are organized yearly. Her main research issues are zoo-anthropoparasites (epidemiology, systematics, biology, and genetics), epidemiology and control of human parasitic diseases, medical entomology, diagnostics in parasitology, and teaching in parasitology.
