The research interests of Francesco Benedetto are in the field of multimedia communications and video coding, ground penetrating radar (GPR) signal processing, spread-spectrum code synchronization for 3G communication systems and satellite systems (GPS and GALILEO), correlation estimation and spectral analysis. He is the Associate Editor (Area: Wireless Signal Processing and Traffic Engineering) for the International Journal of Mobile Network Design and Innovation. He is the Regional Editor of both the International Journals of Recent Patens on Computer Science and Recent Patens on Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He has been the Session Chair at the 2013 IEEE International symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC 2013) for the sessions "Signal Processing for Wireless Communications", "Spectrum Management and TV White Spaces", and "Multi-Antenna Signal Processing". He has been the Session Chair at the 2012 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2012-Fall) for both the sessions "Detection and Estimation" and "MIMO/OFDM-based Cognitive Radio". Since 2010, He is an Editor for the ISRN Communications and Networking , one of the International Scholarly Research Network Series of Journals of the Hindawi Publishing Corporation.
