Isik Ozguney was born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1967. She received her degrees from Ege University. In 1991, she got a B.pharm. degree with the title “Micromeritic and kinetic studies on nitrofurantoin microcapsules” and an M.S. degree with the title “Studies on sustained release granules and megaloporous matrix systems prepared with these granules” in 1998. Then, she received a Ph.D. degree in 1999. Ozguney became an Assistant Professor in 2008 and now she works as an Associate Professor at the Pharmaceutical Technology Department, Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. She did research on these areas: controlled drug delivery systems (microcapsules and matrix tablets), micromeritics, transdermal and dermal systems (microemulsions and gels), rectal delivery systems, (suppositories), ophthalmic delivery systems, in situ gelling systems, and hot melt extrusion.
