Michel Dy
Michel Dy is currently the Director of the Research Unit CNRS UMR 8147 “Cytokines, Hematopoiesis and Immune Response” in Necker Hospital, Paris. Dr. Dy graduated from the Faculté de Sciences de Paris in 1969 and obtained his D.S. degree (Doctorate of Sciences) from the University Pierre et Marie Curie in 1978. He is a Cell Biologist whose research focuses on the role of histamine in immune responses and hematopoiesis. Dr. Dy was the first to demonstrate that IL-3 induces histamine and IL-4 production by hematopoietic precursors and basophils. Later, he explored the factors controlling histamine production and the physiological and pathological effects of this amine. More recently, he is interested in the implication of histamine- and IL-4-producing basophils on allergic pathologies. Dr. Dy is the author of numerous publications and coorganizes several national and international scientific meetings.
