Pierre Vollenweider is a plant ecologist and plant anatomist working as a Scientific Collaborator at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow, and Landscape Research WSL in Switzerland. He is also a Lecturer at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland. His field of expertise includes the morphological, structural, and ultrastructural reactions of plants to mostly abiotic stress. His recent experiences deal with the effects of ozone, heavy metals, or climate change on the plant structures and the tolerance and stress responses. His application domain includes the development and validation of bioindication and bioindicator accessions, the elucidation of tolerance mechanisms, or the monitoring of stress factors impact.
