Hao Deng obtained his M.D. degree from the Hunan Medical University, Hunan, China, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, China. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA, in 2006. From 2006 to 2007, he worked as an Instructor at the Baylor College of Medicine. In 2007, he returned to China and became a Researcher at the Center for Experimental Medicine, the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Hunan, China, where he currently leads a research group investigating various genetic disorders, especially in neurology. He is currently the Executive/Vice Director of the Center for Experimental Medicine and Professor of Neurology and Doctoral Supervisor of Central South University. He is a Member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, and the American Academy of Neurology. He has also served as a Reviewer for more than 20 journals, such as Neurology and Biological Psychiatry. Deng published 60 papers in international peer‐reviewed journals with over 800 citations. Deng’s areas of expertise include neurogenetics and molecular cytogenetics.
