Serafín Moral
0000-0002-5555-0857Serafín Moral was born in 1959. He obtained an M.S. degree in mathematics in 1981 and a Ph.D. degree in sciences (mathematics) in 1985, both at the University of Granada, Granada, Spain. Now, he is Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Granada. He has published about 70 papers in major journals and 35 papers in edited books and has collaborated with researchers around the world. He has been Program Cochair of the conferences UAI'98, TTIA'05, and ISIPTA' 09 and Chairman of the organizing committee of the conferences Ecsqaru'93 and IPMU'96. He is Area Chair of the International Journal of Uncertainty Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems and Revista Iberoameriacana en Inteligencia Artificial. He is a member of the editorial board of the following journals: International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, Progress in Artificial Intelligence, and Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (Past Member). Topics of interest include Bayesian networks (propagation algorithms and most probable explanation), foundations of uncertain reasoning, imprecise probability (conditioning, independence, and algorithms in graphical structures).
