Jacques Guillot, holder of D.V.M., Ph.D. degrees, was born in 1968 and is currently Full Professor of parasitology and mycology at the Veterinary College of Alfort (Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort, France). He is a Member of the French Society of Parasitology (SFP), the French Society of Medical Mycology (SFMM), the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM), and the International Society of Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM). He is a Diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College (EVPC) since 2004. His primary research areas are about the diagnosis and the treatment of fungal or parasitic infections in domestic and wild animals. He is the author of 88 articles in international journals of microbiology or parasitology since 1994. He was a Member of the Editorial Board of Veterinary Dermatology from 2001 to 2009. From 2003 to 2007, he was the Scientific Director of the Veterinary College of Alfort. He is now Head of the Joint Research Unit ANSES, ENVA, UPEC BIPAR (Molecular biology and immunology of parasitic and fungal diseases). Professor Guillot is a Member of ESCCAP (European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites), an independent, nonprofit making organization whose objective is to develop guidelines for the diagnosis, the treatment, and control of major parasitic infections in companion animals.
