Victor V. Moshchalkov

Victor V. Moshchalkov graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. He obtained an M.S. degree in physics, in 1975, with the best record in history of the physics department, a Ph.D. degree in physics, in 1978, and Habilitation degree, in 1985. Moshchalkov worked as Head of the Laboratory of High Temperature Superconductivity, in 1988–1991, and since 1991 works as Professor of Physics at the K.U.Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. His positions include being Coeditor of Europhysics Letters, in 1998–2003, Editor of Physica C, since 2007, Chairman of the European Science Foundation Programme VORTEX, in 1999–2004, Chairman of the European Science Foundation Programme “Nanoscience and Engineering in Superconductivity-NES,” since 2007, Cochairman of the Global Research Programme “Nanoscience and Engineering in Superconductivity,” since 2004, and Director of Institute for Nanoscale Physics and Chemistry ( INPAC) at the K.U.Leuven, since 2004. He received many honors as The USSR State Prize for Young Researchers, 1986, The USSR Ministry of High Education Scientific Prize, 1988, ISI Thomson Scientific Award “Top Cited Paper in Flanders,” 2000, Dr. A. de Leeuw-Damry-Bourlart Prize, 2005, and American Physical Society Fellowship.
