Massimo Degano obtained a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Padua, Padua, Italy, in 1992. He worked as a Post doctoral research Associate at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, USA from 1993 to 1996, and at The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA from 1996 to 1999. He has also been the Head of Crystallography and Structural Biology at the Italian Synchrotron Source "Elettra," Italy, from 1999 to 2001. Currently, he is position the Head of Biocrystallography, San Raffaele Research Institute, Milan, Italy. His research interests include structural biology, structure-based drug design, enzyme structure and mechanism, protein-protein interactions, and Protein dynamics.
