Jukka Henriksson
Jukka Henriksson was born in Turku, Finland. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1985 from Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) with high honors. He has worked in Communications Laboratory of HUT from 1969 to 1984. He joined Nokia Telecommunications in 1984 and then since 1986 he is in Nokia Research Center (NRC). He has been active in modulation studies, diversity reception, and other areas of radio propagation in fixed radio links. Since 1989, he has worked also within TV transmission (EUREKA HDTV and digital TV) and some other areas of radio transmission like neural detection of digital signals. Dr. Henriksson has been chairing the AHG DVB TM-H since 2002 bringing TV to handheld devices. Currently, he is Vice Chair of DVB TM-T2 group defining the next generation terrestrial standard for digital TV.
Dr. Henriksson holds several (about 30) patents and patent applications and has published about fifty papers in national and international forums. He was granted the Nokia Award in 1990 for achievements within digital communications, especially radio links. He was also one winner of the Finnish Engineering Award 2007 (for mobile TV). Dr. Henriksson is a Research Fellow in Nokia Research Center, Helsinki, a Senior Member of IEEE, and Knight of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
