Raouf Hamzaoui

Raouf Hamzaoui received the Maîtrise degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis, the M.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Montreal, the Ph.D. degree from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and the Habilitation degree in computer science from the University of Konstanz. He served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Leipzig and at the Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Konstanz. In September 2006, he joined De Montfort University, where he works as a Professor of media technology at the Faculty of Technology. His research interests include image and video compression, multimedia communications, error-control coding, and pattern recognition. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, the Journal of Multimedia, and the Open Electrical and Electronic Engineering Journal, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Pattern Recognition.
