Andre Souza

Andre Souza serves as a Scientist at Carestream Health since 2007. Souza holds a Doctoral degree and an M.S. degree in medical physics from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and was awarded a Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2001. Andre earned his B.S. degree in physics from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. His work spans over 15 years of experience in 3D medical imaging, covering topics such as machine learning, segmentation, image filtering and registration, advanced visualization, and 2D/3D user interaction. Andre has experience in product innovation management and a track record in developing, managing and delivering product solutions. From 2002 to 2007, Andre serves as a Researcher Associate with the Medical Imaging Processing Group (MIPG) at the University of Pennsylvania. He has published over 20 papers on medical imaging and related topics, and he has served as a reviewer for major medical imaging journals (IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Medical Physics Journal, Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision, Journal of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery). He also served as a Program Committee Member for the Workshop on Interactive Graphics and Visualization for Industry-Driven Applied and Exploratory Research (SIBIGRAPI). Andre holds a Doctoral degree and an M.S. degree in medical physics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and was awarded a Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania from 2000 to 2001
