Morten Brons
Technical University of Denmark, Denmark
Morten Brons was born in Copenhagen in 1957. He received an M.S. degree (1984) and a Ph.D. degree (1987) in applied mathematics from
the Technical University of Denmark. He has held various positions in
the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Denmark,
being a Full Professor since 2002. His research is within applied
dynamical systems, in particular, with particular focus on fluid
mechanics. His research topics include vortex dynamics, vortex breakdown,
flow structure identification, model reduction, and stability of
turbomachinery. He has also worked with nonlinear mechanical
vibrations and applications of singular perturbation theory to
chemical and biological systems. He is a Member of the Scientific
Council of Danish Center for Applied Mathematics and a Founding Member
of the Center for Fluid Dynamics at the Technical University of
Denmark. From 1996 to 2001, he was a Member of the Board of and secretary and
treasurer for the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry. He has
