Tibor Tot is Associate Professor of pathology at the University of Uppsala, Sweden, and Head of Laboratory Medicine Dalarna as well as its Department of Pathology and Clinical Cytology at the County Hospital Dalarna in Falun, Sweden. He serves as a Visiting Professor at University of Novi Sad, Serbia, where he was educated. He serves as a Breast Cancer Expert at the Swedish Board (Ministry) of Welfare and as a Regular Course Director of its Breast Pathology Program. He is also one of the three faculty members in the breast pathology arm of the European School of Pathology. In addition to more than 80 journal articles and several book chapters, he published the book titled Practical Breast Pathology (first edition 2002, second edition 2014), which has become official teaching material of the European School of Pathology. He coauthored the Thieme Series on art and science of mammography. He served as the Chairman of the Second International Workshop on Alternatives to Mammography (Copenhagen, 2005). He also published a book on colorectal tumors in 2005, edited the book Breast Cancer, a Lobar Disease (Springer 2011) and coedited the book Breast Cancer, a Heterogeneous Disease Entity (Springer, 2011). With radiological pathological correlation of breast diseases as his main field of interest, he served repeatedly as an Invited Lecturer at the European Congress of Radiology, European Congress of Pathology, and other international and national congresses, symposia, and teaching courses all over the world. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Virchows Archiv, the official journal of the European Society of Pathology, and the Case Reports in Pathology. He is Member of the European Working Group for Breast Cancer Screening Pathology, Scientific Director of the breast program of the European Society of Medical Oncology, and past Chair of the Working Group for Breast Pathology of the European Society of Pathology.
