Mahmut Balkan

Mahmut Balkan was born in Diyarbakir, Turkey (1966). He is working at the Department of Medical Biology and Genetics, Dicle University Medical Faculty, Turkey. Between 1983 and 1987, he gained his B.S. degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir, Turkey, then an M.S. degree from Department of Biology, Applied Science Institute (1994–1996). Balkan received two Ph.D. degrees, the first one was from the Department of Biology, Applied Science Institute, Dicle University (1996–2001) while the second one was from the Department of Medical Biology and Genetics, Dicle University of Health Sciences (2002–2006). Since 1999, he has been an Assistant Professor in medical biology and genetics at the Medical Faculty, Dicle University, Diyarbakir, Turkey. His research interests are mainly in cytogenetic male infertility, molecular genetics male infertility, and male clinical infertility genetics.
