Associate Professor Robyn Gallagher has been conducted nursing research for more than 20 years and her focus is cardiovascular and chronic care. She is particularly interested in psychosocial aspects, recovery and self-management. Dr Gallagher has more than 25 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and ten HIgher Degree by Resesarch student completions. One of her strengths is her capacity to lead and develop clinicians to conduct good quality research and publish this research. Robyn's main methodology strengths are in quantitative and survey areas. Robyn is involved in patient care, teaching and research related to patients with cardiac and other chronic illnesses. She is passionate about self-management and has a keen interest in psychosocial issues and women and cardiac disease. She is involved in leading research in multidisciplinary teams and has a strong record in supporting clinicians to conduct research and research degree student supervision. She coordinates the Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery Honours degrees and her philosophy in supervision is to support students' research training within a philosophy of respect for individuals. She provides presentations to the community on womens' heart health and self-management in chronic illness.
